Does a whole set have the secret? Here are the odds

A whole set doesn't come with the secret. In a 12-box Pop Mart set at 1 in 144, it turns up about 8% of the time, and it takes a regular figure's place when it does.

One whole set holds the secret about 8% of the time. With 1 set, your chance is 8%.

90% chance takes28 sets$6,716.64

An even chance takes 9 whole sets, which leaves you with about 8 extra copies of every regular figure.

A whole set gives you no head start on the secret

A whole set stops repeats, but it doesn't add a secret. Pop Mart's own listing for its 2026 Genshin Impact series says the secret shows up at 1 in 144 and replaces a standard figure.

So 12 boxes in a set have the same chance as 12 single boxes, about 8%. One Scrappy Mom's guide puts the catch plainly: "If a secret appears in a whole set, it replaces a regular design."

Chasing the secret with whole sets

Some fans buy set after set, hoping the next one holds it. An even chance in 12-box sets takes 9 sets, about $2,159 at $239.88 each, and you'd own about 8 spare copies of every regular figure.

For collector Caitlin Sackett, the feeling was worth it. She told People that getting her first secret was "an incredible feeling." Just know what the feeling costs before you start buying sets for it.

Questions collectors ask

Can a whole set hold two secrets?

It's possible, but rare. At 1 in 144, the chance of two in one 12-box set is under 1%.

Does a reseller's sealed case work the same way?

Not always. Only a whole set from Pop Mart promises no repeats, and StockX warns its buyers they may get repeats in a blind box case.
